My first idea upon looking at the Transformation Contest was a Tear splashing into an ocean and becoming some sort of whale. The idea was at first a play on words, crying, or whaling turning into whales. Then the idea progressed into a child's tears and how deadly they can be to a heart. Adding to the idea of puns and being deadly I came up with Killer Whales. After the idea was spun the piece itself came together rather quickly. I liked the idea of the child being a silhouette, it makes it more iconic and relatable (it could be anyone's child, or childhood). And since Killer Whales are naturally black and white it seemed appropriate for them to be a stylized silhouette as well. The program I used to illustrate my idea was Photoshop CS5, and my trusty intuos5 wacom tablet. All together this project took me around an hour and a half.
That is a very clever idea for this!
Super cool! This would look amazing animated *_*
I was actually thinking about trying to animate this. Thats one of the projects most animator students have. Is a morphing project. My first one was pretty mediocre, so I'm going to shoot for making another.
